West Point Township
List is Rural Areas only.
History: West Point township has in it some of the finest farms in the county. In the north-west part is situated the town of West Point, which is a thriving little inland town. The south part of the township is very heavily timbered, but nevertheless has some good and valuable farms, especially in the south-west corner. Although West Point has no railroad (excepting one touching the south-west corner), yet several are proposed, and will undoubtedly by built very soon. The city of Fort Madison comes within three miles of the south-east corner, and furnishes not only railroad facilities, but transportation by water.
