A few months ago Mr. Carrel and family were compelled to give up the business and removed to a
health resort in Arkansas, and the end came on April 9th.
The wife and family returned to Livermore with the remains this week, and the funeral services
will be held from the Methodist church of Algona on Friday at two p.m. and he will be buried at
Algona by the side of his brother. The Moose Lodge of Algona, of which he was a member, will
have charge of the funeral.
Deceased leaves a loving and faithful wife, a daughter Vivian four years of age, and also four step-
children, Esther, about 17, and Raymond, 14, and two younger boys Fred and Dale.
He also leaves three brothers: Samuel at Livermore, Asa at Indianola, and Charles in California.
Two sisters survive him: Mrs. H. A. Oviatt of Madrid and Mrs. Simon Homesley of Woodward.
Mrs. Homesley is here to attend the funeral, and also Mr. and Mrs. Everet Carrel and Mrs. Frank
Guthrie and daughter of Mankato.
Deceased was a very kind hearted man and generally beloved by those who knew him best. In
religious tendencies he held to the Methodist faith, and about six months ago was converted and
expressed his hope in the life beyond.
His widow and children expect to make Livermore their future home, and will probably re-engage
in the business which they so successfully conducted only a short time ago.

In publishing the obituary of the late Theo. Carrel of Algona and Livermore, there was a mistake made in
giving the facts of his first marriage. This has been called to our attention by Mrs. Nellie Devine Goetzman
of Pomona, California, a sister of the first Mrs. Carrel. Mrs. Goetzman writes that Mr. Carrel married her
sister, Miss Clara Devine and one little son was born to them, who died in infancy. These mistakes often
occur in obituaries where no one is thoughtful enough to furnish the newspaperman the facts.
