Luebbers, Donna M. nee Leonard 1935 - 2001

ALLISON - Donna M. Luebbers, 66, Allison, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at the Allison Health Care Center, Allison from complications of cancer.

Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Parkersburg with Father Dennis Quint officiating. Musicians were Lindsay Schwennen and Gwendolyn Gochenouer with Bill Luebbers as Song Leader. Hymn selections included "City of God", "Ave Maria", "On This Day, O' Beautiful Mother" and "Let There Be Peace On Earth."

Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Parkersburg with Tim Spratt, Rob Luebbers, Dan Lampe, Mike Luebbers, Jim Luebbers and Chris Moline as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers were Jay Watkins, Robert Crowder, John VanCleave, Joe Van-Cleave and Mike McCloud.

Donna was born on Aug. 20, 1935 in New Hampton, the daughter of Donald and Marie (Kennedy) Leonard. She was baptized in 1935 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Lawler. She received her education at Lawler Community School, and then attended Hamilton Business College, Mason City. Donna was employed with Rath Packing Company, Waterloo from 1955 to 1961. She married Gerhard John Luebbers on Feb. 11, 1961 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Lawler. The couple farmed near Allison. Donna was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was a CCD teacher. She was also a member of The Catholic Daughters at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish. She enjoyed decorating cakes, collecting Precious Moment figurines and attending family functions.

Survivors include her husband, Gerhard; one son, Thomas Luebbers, Waverly; two daughters, Michelle (Randy) Dischler and Patricia Lubbers, Allison; three grandchildren; her mother; Marie Leonard, Lawler; two sisters, Eileen Rahr, Glenview, IL and Maureen Franck, Lutz, FL and two brothers Michael (Diane) Leonard, Plymouth, MN and Thomas (Carole) Leonard, Lawler.

Preceding her in death was her father, in 1992.
