Funeral services for Joseph Weber, formerly of Riceville, will be held Thursday, May 17, at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Riceville with the Rev. Herschel Hawf officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery in Little Cedar. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Joseph, 80, died Monday, May 14, 2001 at Lexington, KY after an extended illness.

Joseph Peter Weber was born May 22, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN the son of William and Mary (Mueller) Weber. He attended local schools. Joe was employed as a mechanic and was engaged in farming.

On November 1, 1941 he married Cleo Witzel.

He is survived by his wife Cleo of Lexington; two sons: Jerry of Elkaderand Dean of Rockwell; one daughter: Mary Burke of Lexington, KY; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; step-mother: Ella Weber of Osage; three brothers: Billy of Long Beach, CA, John of Osage, and Jake of Clear Lake; and four sisters: Helen Schmidt of Osage, Dorothy Sullivan of Mason city, LaDonna Parker of Charles City and Margaret Lindermann of Mason City.

Joseph was preceded in death by one granddaughter; his parents, four brothers: Ralph, Bob, Vincent, and James; and two sisters: Katheren and Marie.
