TOLLIVER, Blanche Ethel nee JOHNSTON 1912 - 2001

CHARLES CITY - Blanche E. Tolliver, 89, Eleventh Street Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services are being held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 6 at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, Charles City., with Rev. Arthur C. Wegner Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Visitation was from 2-9 .m. Thursday, April 5 and one our prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

Blanche Ethel Johnston was born Feb. 21, 1912 in Rockford, the daughter of Marvin Monroe and Martha June (Squire) Johnston. On Sept. 6, 1930, she was united in marriage with Earl Clark Tolliver at the First Methodist Church in Charles City. Blanche was a longtime homemaker, residing in the Charles City and Colwell areas. She was a member of Trintiy United Methodist Church ana enjoyed writing poetry, painting pictures and portraits, crocheting, knitting, sewing and singing for her family.

Surviving are five children, Marvuyn (Ronald) Thomas, Middleton, WI, Stanley (Nancy) Tolliver, Montgomery, AL, Gary (Mary Ann) Tolliver, Alta Vista, Sandra (William (Burns), Duarte, CA and Norman (Gloria) Tolliver, Charles City; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Johnston, Ohio; two sisters, Vivian Schreckengost and Lucille (O'Dell) Miller, Mason City.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Earl on Oct. 17, 1983; an infant daughter, Linda Sue Tolliver; a brotner, Kezzie Haberkom.
