TESTORFF, Edith Elizabeth nee TESTORFF 1914 - 2001

FREDERICKSBURG -- Edith Testorff, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Hampton.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at St. John Lutheran Church, Frederika.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg and also one hour before services at the church. 

Edith Elizabeth Testorff was born March 11, 1914 in rural Chickasaw County, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Liddle) Testorff. She attended country schools through the eighth grade. She worked as a housekeeper for several families until marriage to Ernest Testorff on Nov. 22, 1945 at St. John Lutheran Church, Frederika. Edith and Ernest farmed all their married life, living on their last farm since 1947. Edith moved into the nursing home in 1996. Edith was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Frederika since 1945. She enjoyed working in her kitchen, gardening, baking, canning and being a farmwife.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles, Laverne and Rose, all of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren; a grandson-in-law and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, in 1995; her parents; four brothers, Pete (Edwin) Sheldon, Irvan Sheldon and two in infancy.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
