ROBERSON, Sarah Elouise nee WALTERS 1916 - 2001

JER1CO — S. Elouise Roberson, 85, Jerico, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at Jerico Lutheran Church, Jerico with Reverend Kent Dethiefsen officiating. Mary Beth Dethlefsen was the organist and accompanied those in attendance singing "Lift High The Cross", "For All The Saints", "I'm But A Stranger Here" and "There Is A Place .

Burial was in the church cemetery with Scott Dahle, Tim Cutsforth, Stacey Dahle, Robert Roberson Jr., Wayne Haskovec, Tyler Haskovec, Chris Roberson and Daniel Stover serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Ann Miles, Sarah Jane Burch, Stephanie Dahle, Alisa Roberson and Andrea Kolbet.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at Conway Funeral Home, New Hampton and an hour prior to services at the church.

Sarah Elouise Roberson was born Nov. 11,1916 in Ruthven, the daughter of Daniel and Myrtle (Brott) Walters. She was raised in the New Hampton area and graduated from New Hampton High School. She was united in marriage with Harvey Raymond Roberson on Oct. 14,1937 at the Jerico/Saude Lutheran Parsonage. Following their marriage the couple farmed north of Jerico and resided I there for their entire married life. During that time Elouise worked at J.C. Penney's. Elouise was a skilled painter and had paintings exhibited throughout Iowa and the surrounding states. She was a member of the Jerico Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, the County Liners Card Club for over 40 years and was a 4-H club leader for many years. She enjoyed flower aranging.

 Survivors include her husband, Harvey; six children, Diane (Donald) Burch, Galena, IL, Jean Cutsforth, Cedar Falls, Betty (Bob) Arndt, Des Moines, Suzanne (Stewart) Stover, Rockford, IL, Robert (Marcia) Roberson, New Hampton and Sara (Wayne) Haskovec, Reinbeck; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Walters, Grundy Center and a sister, Donna Zeien, Hastings, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Ruth Stapner and Betty Fliger and a brother, Arthur Walters. 

Memorials may be directed to the Jerico Lutheran Church.
