IONIA -- Harold Piper, 60, Ionia, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001 at his home in Ionia of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at the Ionia United Church of Christ, Ionia with Reverend Catherine Luck officiating. Gerald Bailey was the organist.

Burial was in Alcock Cemetery, rural Frederika with Jim Stanton, Terry Hennings, Tim Piper, Greg Hennings, Tony Hennings ana Jeffrey Hennings serving as casket bearers.

Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at Conway Funeral Home,. New Hampton, and an hour prior to services at the church.

Harold James Piper was born April 30, 1941 in Iowa City, the son of Clyde and Irene (Brewerl McDaniel. He received his education in Ackley. On June 10, 1962 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Lampe at The Little Brown Church. After their marriage the couple resided in various places near New Hampton. Harold worked for McGrath's Implement for 25 years and T & K Repair for ten years. In 1993 the couple moved to Ionia where they were currently residing. In 1998, Harold started his own business Repair, in Ionia.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two daughters, Pamela (Terry) Hennings, Tripoli and Annette (Jim) Stanton, Woodward; a son, Tim (Melissa) Piper, Woodward; five grandchildren and eight half brothers and sisters.

Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant son, Tony Lee Piper, in 1962.
