WATERLOO - Davie W. "Dave" Natvig, 85, Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001 of congestive heart failure.

Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at lmmanual Lutheran Church.

Burial was in Garden of Memories with graveside military rites conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31.

Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at Parrott and Wood Family Funeral Care, and for an hour before services Saturday, Dec. 1 at the church.

Dave was born May 28, 1916 in Chickasaw County, the son of Alert and Mary (Vaala) Natvig:    He was New Hampton's first state wrestling champ in 1933 and repeated in 1934. In 1991 he was inducted into the New Hampton High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He married Margaret Vikdal on Aug. 11,1946 in Saude. Dave was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He received ftis master's degree from the University of Southern California and had been a teacher and coach at East Waterloo High School for 33 years.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Scott, Muscatine, Steven, Spirit Lake and Stuart, Waterloo and five granddaughters.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Alva and a sister. Ora Hutchinson.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
