WAUCOMA — Dorothy Ann Nolte, 53, rural Waucoma, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN following a brief illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Lawler with Rev. Marvin Salz presiding. The pall was placed on the casket by her three sons. Ronald Nolte was lector. Ranae Huinker was organist, accompanying Bob Huinker singing On Eagle’s Wings", "Be Not Afraid", "Amazing Grace" and "The Prayer of St. Francis".

Interment was in St. Luke's Cemetery, St. Lucas, with ,Steve Christoph, Jim DeLongpre, Dan Bissen, Ben Kuennen, David Trewin and Mark Winter as pallbearers.

Visitation was held from 3-9 p.m. Friday, March 16 at the Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, Lawler, with a 4 .m. Rosary and a 6:30 p.m. arish Scripture Service.

Dorothy was born June 26, 1947 in Osage, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary (Hogan) Bissen. She attended Southland High School in Adams, MN and one year at Austin Junior College where she took medical secretary courses. Following her education, Dorothy worked for nine years at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. On May 31, 1975, Dorothy married Roger Nolte at Sacred Heart Parish in Adams, MN. The couple then moved to their current home southwest of Waucoma.

Dorothy was employed for five years at Sara Lee in New Hampton and for 12 years at the Atwood Company in West Union. In December '1991, Dorothy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, at which time she joined the Northeast Iowa Multiple Sclerosis Support Group. She was Secretary for the group for the last two years. Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Lawler and she enjoyed baking, cross-stitching and her flower garden.

Survivors include her husband, Roger; three sons, Steve, Nick and Mike Nolte at home; her mother, Mary Bissen, Adams, MN; three brothers, Joseph (Debra) Bissen, Rochester, MN, Thomas Bissen, Minneapolis, MN, Michael Bissen, Rosecreek, MN; three sisters, Virginia Bissen, Rose-creek, MN, Susan and Patricia Bissen, both of Rochester, MN.

Preceding her in death were her father, Wilfred Bissen and her grandparents.
