LINK, Elihue Harold "Beek" 1927 - 2001

IONIA- Elihue Harold "Beek" Link, 74, Ionia, died Friday, June 15, 2001 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City.

Burial will be Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation will be from 4-S p.m. Monday, June 18 at the Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Beek was born in Chickasaw County on Jan. 29, 1927, the son of Elinu and Agnes (Jordan) Link. He attended Chickasaw County schools and graduated from Charles City High School in 1945.He served with the U. S. Army during W. W. II. He received the Army of Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and W.W.1I Victory Medal. He was united in marriage to Leona Florence Koeneke on Jan. 18, 1948 in Charles City. They lived on their rural Charles City farm until Leona's death in 1979. Beek was married to Leona Rowley on Sent. 18, 1982 and she died in 1990. Beek was united in marriage to Glenda Hildebrand on July 13, 1992 in Charles City. He worked at the Charles City Livestock Exchange and later was a self-employed cattle buyer and farmer. He was a member of Trinity Unity United Methodist Churcn, an associate member of Messiah Lutheran Church and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda; two sons, E. Michael (Dee) Link, Ionia and Greg (Edie) Link, Los Angeles, CA; three daughters, Linda (Normand) Klemesrud, Charles City, Debbie (Mike) Hayman, Bettendorf and Cindy Maag, LeClaire, seven stepchildren, Gloria Palmer, Mason City, Joanne Boyd, Loveland, Terri Allen, Cedar Falls, Karen Hagarty, Waterloo, Richard Tibbits, Charles City and David Tibbets Nashua one brother, Louis Link, Ionia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wives, Leona (Koeneke) Link and Leona (Rowley) Link; his parents; one sister, Nellie Crooks and one great-grandson, Parker Prigge.
