ORONOCO, MN - Laurie J. Kuennen, 45, Oronoco, MN and a former resident of Lawler, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at her home of cancer.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at Macken Colonial Chapel, 1105 12th Street SE, Rochester, MN with Rev. Jules Erickson presiding.

The body will be cremated after the service.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Laurie J. Haugland was born Sept. 22, 1955 in Austin, MN. She graduated from Austin High School in 1974 and from Northeast Iowa Technical School at Calmar in 1984 as a Registered Nurse. Laurie practiced nursing in Waterloo, Austin, MN and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and since 1997, at SEMCIL in Rochester. She lived in Lawler from 1979-1988, in Austin, MN until 1989 and since then has resided in Oronoco. She was previously married and divorced. She married Tom Kuennen on Jan. 3, 1987 in Calmar.

Surviving are her husband, Tom; one daughter, Melinda (Kevin) McAllister, Claremont, MN; two grandchildren; her mother, Valerie Haugland, Austin, MN; five brothers, Andrew (Becky) Haugland, Germany; Edward (Mary) Haugland, Alexandria, VA, A1 (Lori) Haugland, Alexandria, MN, Tom (Debbie) Haugland and Stephen Haugland, Austin, MN.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Memorials may be given to the Gift of Life Transplant House.
