NEW HAMPTON - Norma M. Krueger, 80, New Hampton, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, after a long illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Carl Schmitt celebrating the mass. The pall was placed on the casket by her husband and children. Music for the service was provided by Dr. Raymond Krueger as organist, Jeff Krueger as cantor and the St. Josepn Resurrection Choir. The offertory gifts were presented by Laura Riha and Michelle Kelley. Lectors were Nicole Krueger, Cheryl Krueger and Maia Gardner. Eucharistic ministers were Pat and Robin Krueger.

Interment was in New Hampton City Cemetery with Matthew Sinnwell, Casey Sinnwell, Andrew Riha, Matthew Kelley, Jack Kipp and Stephen Rausch as pallbearers.

Visitation was 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton where there was a 4 p.m. Rosary, a 7 p.m. Parish Scripture Service and a 7:30 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Further visitation was an hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Norma was born Sept. 13, 1921 in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of Bertram and Henrietta (Reihle) Schissel. She graduated from Waucoma High School. For a few years prior to her marriage, Norma worked at the former Corner Grocery in New Hampton. On Sept. 13, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert Krueger. Together the couple farmed west of New Hampton where all their nine children were born. Norma had a large garden and enjoyed canning for her family. In 1992, Norma and Robert moved to their current home in New Hampton. Norma was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; four sons, Bob (Robin) Krueger, Charles City, Paul (Pat) Krueger, New Hampton, Dr. Raymond Krueger, Spring Valley, MN and Gordon (Donita) Krueger, Cedar Falls; five daughters, Linda Rieckenberg, Poulsbo, WA, Karen (Andy) Sinnwell, Forest City, Becky (Dick) Rausch, Ionia, Nancy (William) Gardner, St. Francis, MN and Beth (Jamy) Ball, Lake Mills; 22 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Tony (Lucy) Schissel, New Hampton; five sisters, (Joan (Charles) Kipp, Waterloo, Madonna (Keith) O'Connell, Lawler, Betty Weilacker, California, Mary Petersen, Kansas City, MO and Kathy (Luke) Bohr, .Decorah.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Willis and Loras Schissel.
