KOSKIE, Lucile Susan nee DIESBURG 1908 - 2001

IONIA -- Lucile Susan Koskie, 92, Ionia, died Thursday, June 28, 2001 at New Hampton Care Center, New Hampton.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Ionia with Rev. John Hemann officiating. Music was provided by Loretta Koenigsfeld, organist and the St. Boniface Choir.

Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery, Ionia. Casketbearers were Pete Adams, A.J. Diesburg, Shannon Fredrickson, Melvin Johnston, Tim Phillips and Lawrence Ross.

Visitation was held at Ionia Funeral Home Friday, June 29 from 5-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Lucile was born on Oct. 10, 1908 in Ionia to Mike and Emma (Weber) Diesburg. She attended schools in Ionia and North Dakota. She married John Koskie on Feb. 2, 1927 at St. Boniface Church in North Dakota. After their marriage they resided in North Dakota before moving to Ionia in 1936, where they farmed until 1966. They then moved to Charles City, but returned to Ionia after a couple of years. Lucile was a great seamstress and cook and liked to crochet. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Ionia and the St. Boniface Guild.

Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Koskie, Nashua; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Irene Johnston, Clarksville.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John, in 1999; two sons, Dwight and Laverne, in infancy; her parents; five brothers and three sisters.
