Esther Marie Gilbert, 65, of Wildwood, 111. passed away Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Candell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. Funeral services were held Monday, March 12, at the Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in Grayslake, 111. with Pastor Wayne Jahn of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Waukegan officiating. Interment was at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Libertyville.

Esther was born October 12, 1935 in Riceville, Iowa, the daughter of Harry (Mable nee Dilley) Gilbert. She was a resident of Wildwood since 1964, and was formerly of Iowa. Esther was employed at Danaher Controls in Gurnee for over 36 years. She enjoyed working with ceramics and baking.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Marie (Gary) Carlson of Wildwood; and her loving grandchildren, Nicole Marie, Bret Ryan and Kyle Richard Carlson; her brother, Wilford and llene Ring of Mclntire, Iowa; sister-in-law, Belvia Lovik of Osage, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Gilbert, and step-mother, Vivian "Peanuts" Ring.
