COBB, Franklin "Frank" Lahmar 1911 - 2001

NEW HAMPTON ~ Frank Cobb, 89, New Hampton, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the New Hampton Care Center of natural causes.

There will be no services; his body was donated to the Medical Research Department at the University of Iowa.

Franklin Lahmar Cobb was born Nov. 26, 1911 at Ford, KS, the son of Roy Lahmar and Letha Ellen (Stout) Cobb. He graduated from high school in 929 at Norwich, K§, then went on to attend Wichita University in Wichita, KS. Frank was united in marriage with Charlotte Maurer on Nov. 27, 1935 in Wichita. They later moved to Liberal, KS where he was plant manager for Beech Aircraft until 1969 when he retired. The couple then moved onto Doc Ripple's farm west of New Hampton. He farmed until July 1992 when he moved to the New Hampton Care Center. Frank enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Surviving are three sons, Dick (Sherry) Cobb, Shreveport, LA, Bill (Barbe) Cobb, Ames, Jim (Miki) Cobb, Santa Fe, NM; six .grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Charlotte on Oct. 19, 1994; a grandson, David Cobb; two sisters) Cora Cobb and Lucille Cobb;
