APPLEN, Marian Rita nee MOHRHAUSER 1932 - 2001

Funeral services for Marian Applen of Rochester, MN were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26 at Pax Christi Church in Rochester. Rev. Patrick Arens officiated. Mahn Family Funeral Homes handled the arrangements.

Marian, 68, died Friday, July 20, 2001 near Las Vegas, NV due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Marian Rita Applen was born November 2, 1932 in Battle Creek, the daughter of George and Mary (Schleimer) Mohrhauser. She worked for Amway for the past 40 years. She worked at Adamson Motors in Rochester for the past several years.

She was a member of Pax Christi Church in Rochester. She was also a member of many dance troops including: tap, clogging, square, round, and Polish hop polka dancing. She was involved in the Kitchen Band and also in Beginning Experiences (BE) both in Rochester. She volunteered for various Alzheimer’s Association activities.

She enjoyed camping, reading, and physical activities.

She is survived by four children: Steven of Coon Rapids, MN, Sharon Applen-Kaaya of Minneapolis, MN, Sandy Albert of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Scott of Olathe, KS; one grandson; her mother: Mary of Cresco; three sisters: Darlene Perry of Cresco, Beverly Wilson of Atwater, CA, and Joan Werett of Cresco; and one brother: Wayne of Rochester, MN.

Marian was preceded in death by her father.
