Gordon R. Springer, 63CHARLES CITY - Gordon R. Springer, 63, Charles City, died Friday morning, Jan. 7 at the Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City of cancer. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at the Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Nashua. Burial was in Sunnyside Memo^Gardens near Charles City. Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday. Gordon was bom March 1, 1936 near Ionia, the son of Amos and Helen (Marovets) Springer. He was a 1954 graduate of Nashua High School. On April 12, 1956, Gordon married Genevieve Bigelow at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. He farmed and was foreman at Walsh Manufacturing in Charles City, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the National Guard. Surviving are his wife, Genevieve; one son, Michael Springer, Nashua; three daughters, Mrs. Steve (Rhonda) Banser, Buffalo, MN, Theresa Berends, Columbus, NE and Mrs. Jeff (Dana) Sherman, Charles City; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Mohring, Ionia, Mrs. Ervin (Madonna) Mohring and Mrs. Clayton (Doris) Martin, both of Charles City and Mrs. David (Beverly) Bray, Des Moines. Preceding him in death were his parents. Memorials may be directed to the familv.
