Howard Knudsen,81Funeral services for Howard Knudsen were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 7 at the Newburg United Methodist Church in Newburg. The Rev. Burton Hoag officiated. Interment was in Newburg Cemetery. Linds trom Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Howard, 81, died Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at the LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Howard Willis Knudsen was born August 11, 1918 in Canton Township, Fillmore Co. MN, the son of Vernon and Dorothy (Pederson) Knudsen. He was baptized and confirmed and a life long member of the Newburg United Methodist Church. He attended Newburg and Canton Public Schools, and the school of auctioneering at Mason City. He was a truck driver, a fanner and a very well known auctioneer in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa areas. He loved auctioneering and donated many hours to area churches, bazaars and many community benefits. On August 15, 1948 he married June Hahn in Preston, MN.
