Albert Klunder, 85Funeral services for Albert Klunder of Clarksville were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 28 at the First United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley, rural Clarksville. Rev. David McBride officiated. Interment was in Willow Lawn Cemetery, Plainfield. Kaiser Corson Funeral Home handled die arrangements. Albert, 85, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at his daughter’s home in Cresco of natural causes . Albert F. Klunder was born June 17, 1915 in rural Butler County, the son of Wilhelm and Louise (Graue) Klunder. He was baptized and confirmed at the First United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley. He attended rural school in Butler County. On January 18, 1934 he married Helen Petersen at the Parsonage of the First United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley. Albert and Helen had farmed for 58 years inthie Butler County area. He had resided,in the Clarksville Nursing Home, until October of 1999 when he moved to the Patty Elwood Center and later to live with , his daughter Joan. He resided there until his death. Albert enjoyed farming, playing cards, and enjoyed going to the sale barn. Survivors include his wife Helen of Cresco; one son: Dean Klunder of Waverly; four daughters: La-Vonne Reeves of Chino, CA, Ruth Mitchell of Charles City, Evelyn Sanderson of Scottsdale, AZ; and Joan Johnston of Cresco; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-granchildren; aid two sisters: Edna Ringleb and Elsie Deike both of Waverly. Albert was preceded in death by one son: Eldon; one grandchild; five great-grandchildren; his parents; .six sisters: Louise Wedeking, Bertha Wedeking, Lena Stoxen, Hilda Schmadeke, Ida and Ella Klunder, and one brother Henry.
