Funeral services were held Saturday, Feo. 12 at LeRoy Lutheran church for Esther Luella Johnson, 92, LeRoy resident who died Wednesday, Feb. 9,    2000 at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin, where she had resided since August of 1998.

The Rev. Thomas Kolden officiated at the 1 p.m. services. Interment was in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, rural LeRoy.

Esther L. Grimley was born in rural LeRoy Nov. 8, 1907, daughter of Ole and Mary (Anderson) Grimley. She attended country schools through the eighth grade, and married Peder Johnson in Austin on Feb. 10, 1926. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Leora (Mrs. David Lidtke) of LeRoy; Phyllis (Mrs. Ray Becker) of Dakota, Minn., and Marlys (Mrs. Peter Jones) of Prior Lake, Minn.; two sons, Peder Jr. and wife Marcella Johnson, Rochester, and Garry and wife, Linda Johnson, Spring Valley. Also 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Grimley, and a sister, Ruth Osland, Adams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Peder on April 23, 1985; a daughter, Ramona; two sisters, Geneva and Hazel, and a son-in-law, Jim.

Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home, LeRoy, was in charge of arrangements
