Beverly A. Harnisch, 45FREDERICKSBURG - Beverly Ann Hamisch, 45, died Saturday, Feb. 12 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN of natural causes. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawkeye, with Pastor Troy Pflibsen officiating. Karla Burst was the reader. Organist was Sally Boie and Clarice Glidden Was vocalist, singing "On Eagle's Wings". Congregational hymn selections were "Prayer of St. Francis" and "I Am The Bread Of Life". Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, with Jim Hubka, Jim Hubka Jr., Mark Meyer, Tim Hamisch, Cory Rochford and Chad Shurtleff as casket bearers. Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Beverly was born in West Union on Oct. 17,1954, the daughter of Lyle and Arlene (Gager) Shurtleff and was baptized in the Lutheran faith as an infant. Beverly was raised in Alpha | and graduated from North Fayette High School, West Union, in 1972. She worked at Beatrice Cheese in Fredericksburg for the next five years. In 1979, she began working at Park View Nursing Home in Cedar Falls and attended Hawkeye Technical Institute in Waterloo, earning a Licensed Practical Nurse degree in 1984. Beverly was currently employed at the New Hampton Care Center where she had worked since 1987. On April 5,1996, Beverly was united in marriage to Phil Hamisch. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and biking. Surviving are her husband, Phil; her mother, Arlene Shurtleff, Alpha; in-laws, Ernie and Katie Hamisch; two stepchildren, Troy, Livermore, CA, Tracy, Fredericksburg; four step grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (Cindy), Alpha, Dennis (Diane), Fredericksburg, Gary, Fort Morgan, CO, Rick (Lois), Fayette; two sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Rochford, Douglas, KS, Marilyn (John) Beregeson, Waucoma; several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her father, Lyle Shurtleff on Oct. 4, 1995; one brother, Randy Shurtleff on Nov. 24, 1996; paternal grandparents, Roy and Oral Shurtleff; maternal grandparents, Alva and Alta Gager.
