Frances M. Hahn, 77FREDERIKA- Frances M. Hahn, 77, died Dec. 14, 2000 at her home after a sudden illness. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Frederika with Rev. Miles Renaas presiding. Music for the services was provided by Edith Kolthoff as organist with congregational hymns "Rock of Ages", "How Great Thou Art" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Frederika. Casket bearers were Roger Drewelow, Todd Hills, Brian Hahn, Brad Drewelow, Reece Hills and Nathan Hahn. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at Rettig Funeral Home, Tripoli and for one hour preceding services at the church. Frances Mae was born Nov. 1, 1923 near Parkersburg, the daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Modderman) Timmer. She was baptized at the Christian Reformed Church near Allison and confirmed at Peace Evangelical Church, Wa'verly. She attended school in Butler and Bremer Counties. She was united in marriage with Alvin Hahn on Oct. 1, 1943 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Frances worked for produces in Frederika and Fredericksburg and later worked as a cook in cafes in Tripoli and Frederika. She retired in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Larry (Barb) Hahn, Ana-mosa and Steve (Jane), Hahn, Tripoli; two daughters, Evelyn (Ron) Hills, Elgin and Carol (David) Drewelow, New Hampton, twelve grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Timmer, Nashua and one sister, Stella Bravener, Tripoli. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Alvin and one sister who died in infancy.
