Ronald L. Cummings, 61

CHARLES CITY - Ronald L. Cummings, 61, Charles City, died Monday morning, June 26 at his home due to complications of lung cancer.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday,

June 29 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City, with Rev. Diane Mitchell, associate pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Sunnyside Memory Gardens south of Charles City with military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation was Wednesday, June 28 at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City and at the church an hour prior to services on Thursday.

Ronald Lee Cummings was born May 2, 1939 at Charles City, the son of Lester and Wanda (Kemp) Cummings. He received his education in the Charles City Schools and served in the Army from 1957 to 1963.

On June 21, 1959, he married Nona Heinselman at Charles City. Ronald was employed at the Sinclair Gas Station, Bud Gray's Gas Station, Potter Ice Cream as a truck driver, the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and White Farm Equipment Corp. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, United Auto Workers Local 1315 and a former member of the Moose Lodge. His hobbies included mens softball, pool, bowling, hunting, fishing, card playing and trap shooting.

Surviving are his wife, Nona, Charles City; four daughters, Becky (Marty) Martin and Julie (Nate) Schwickerath, New Hampton, Shelly Boggess, Nashua and Cindy (Bob) Graham, Rockford; a son, Jeff (Andrea) Cummings, Floyd; eight grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; his parents, Lester and Wanda Cummings, Charles City; two sisters, Carol Boggess, Floyd and Marilyn Hall, Charles City.

Preceding him in death were his brotners-in-law, Bill Hall and Jackie Heinselman; sisters-in-law, Betty Friend and Norma Luck; father and mother-in-law, Verle and Edith Heinselman; a nephew, Kevin Boggess.
