PFC. Earl B. Naughton


PFC Earl B. Naughton was 19 days from celebrating his 19th birthday when he died in the fierce battle to take Okinawa during WWII. He was awarded a Purple Heart.

Naughton from Guthrie County had enlisted in the Army. He was in the 382nd Infantry Regiment of the 96th Division when he was killed in action June 20, 1945.

He was born July 9, 1926, and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu.
