A great resource at the Jefferson Library is the Greene County
digital archives where you can search county-wide newspapers back
to the 1860s; also cemetery indexes and birth, marriage and death
records.
The GCGS reference library in the basement of the Jefferson Public
Library does not have regular open hours during the off season
(winter), however a volunteer is usually present for a while on
Wednesday afternoons. You can call the public library at
515-386-2935 and they would be glad to help you or would transfer the
call to the genealogy volunteer if she is here.
