New York, Nov. 28 -- Complete historic moving pictures of the famous Third Iowa Regiment, now the 168th U.S. Infantry, representing Iowa in the Rainbow division, have been made by the Universal company. One copy is to be filed in the archives of the war department in Washington. The first public showing is reserved exclusively for Iowa.
Col. Ernest R. Bennett and his officers and men co-operated in a special military scenario, for the purpose of showing their friends back home who were unable personally to visit Camp Mills on the Hempstead Plains near Garden City, L.I., every angle of the daily life and training in the school of the soldier. This is the first war in which the American soldiers will be perpetuated in motion pictures. Only faded still photographs of his father and grandfather remain to picture their part in the wars of this country.
