     Isaac G. Kinneer (army serial No. 105248), supply sergeant, then then sergeant, Company A., 2d Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Division. for extraordinary heroism in action south of Soissons, France, July 18, 1918. Sergt. Kinneer took command of his platoon after his platoon leader had been wounded and led one of his sections through our own barrage in order to take up a position where he could fire upon two 77-millimeter field pieces which were firing point blank on our troops. The fire of his gun was so effective that the guns were captured and the crews were forced to surrender.
