H.W. GRAY ENTERTAINS

War Comrades, Wives, and Widows at His Home Sunday

On Memorial Sunday H. W. Gray entertained members of the G.A.R. Post, their wives, the widows of former comrades, and a few friends at a sumptuous dinner at his home. The flowers were red and white, with American flags as favors. the meal was a sumptuous banquet, the tables being liberally laden with good things to eat. The dinner was prepared by Mrs. Gray's two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Oelwein, and Mrs. Albert Koehler of Smithfield township. 

Those present were H. W. Gray, Rev. F. P. Cassidy, George D. Rathban, J. J. Earle, George Bronn, H. A. Bender, Ed. Kelknap, R. Z. Latimer and wife, Mesdames L. N. Green, S. Patterson, Same Luce, Charlotte Fox, J. M. dorman, G. W. Rinehimer, Chas. Clark, D. M. Parker, F. S. Walker, Profesor [sic] and Mrs. Guy West Wilson, Harmn Badger, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Koehler and son, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Oelwein, and C. H. Wilson of Cedar Rapids.

After the dinner the guests departed for the memorial services. the occasion was a most enjoyable one. All those present will long cherish fond recollections of the day.

Tuesday evening of last week the American Legion boys gave a dinner in honor of Mr. Gray's birthday.
