MANY ATTENDING STATE FARM BUREAU MEETING

The twelfth annual meeting of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation being held at Des Moines this week is being well attended form Fayette county. Those in attendance are:  President G. E. Sanerbry of Oelwein, Secretary W. L. Peters of Illyria, Mrs. W. H. Turner, Fayette county project leader, the male quartette from Pleasant Valley consisting of John and Russell Larson, Clifford Kittleson, Clarence Johnson and Gladys Larson accompanist, Oscar Gilley of Maynard, county insurance representative, Mrs. Clarence Nus of Arlington, she having won the trip for having kept the best township secretary book for 1930, Will King and George Hetzel of Arlington, for having voluntarily secured the most new farm bureau members during 1930, Mrs. W. H. Hatch of Oelwein, first district committee woman, Paul Stewart of Maynard, district organization director, and County Agent Lodwick.

 

Fayette county, being one of the ten counties in the state with over one thousand members will be given special recognition. The other counties are, Clayton, Benton, Boone, Cherokee, Franklin, Hancock, Jasper, Shelby and Woodbury. Franklin county with a net paid up membership of 1,239 leads all other counties.

 

Male quartettes from 12 counties and orchestras from six counties are entered in the state contest. The state organization finished the year with active organization in every county in the state and with a net paid up membership of close to 65,000
