The Clermont Fire Department at its annual
meeting last week appointed a committee of five, Wm. Larrabee, Jr.,
W. A. Peters, S. E. Nelson, J. B. Shipton and E. M. Houg, who will
solicit the farm community about Clermont for the purpose of
securing aid in the purchase of a double chemical unit, which will
be used to combat farm fires. Letters were mailed out Wednesday
morning to the farmers and later these will be followed by personal
calls from the committee of the fire department which has been
augmented by another committee from the commercial club which
