Last Monday evening the following committees
were appointed for Illyria’s annual community day:
Speaker Committee: Wallace Peters, Fred
Rothlisberger, Chas. Medberry; Program Committee: Members of
Orchestra; Refreshment Committee: John Rothlisberger, Jakie
Yearous, Chas. Rothlisberger; Stunt Committee: Walter
Rothlisberger, F. O. Hillman, Jerome Yearous, Israel Shaffer;
Committee on Arrangements: Andy Yearous, C. M. Klingman, Jack
Shaffer, Fred Reichert, Ed Kohler, Fremont Ogle; Advertising
Committee: Harold Strong, Guy Ernst, Otis Rothlisberger, Lee
Klingman.
~We feel that we own an apology to the Drum
Corps of Civil War fame, which appeared on our [Elgin] streets July
4th. Its ensemble were Robert Peters, Mike Monnahan, J.
D. Shaffer and Ed Hayes of Volga city and they furnished some
stirring strains of martial music. Our reported did not get out very
much that day and missed seeing and hearing this organization.
