My grandfather, Wm J Gelvin and his wife Jessie M were married in
Hopkinton in 1901, resided in Sand Springs. He was postmaster in
1906 and also ran the general store in town
Jessie's parents were Darius H Garlinghouse and Minerva Jane (White)
married in Sand Springs in 1863. Minerva used the name Jennie and
was a first cousin to Major General Henry W. Lawton.
Mary Elizabeth Gelvin was born in Sand Springs in 1904 and is
pictured with her sister Florence in a 1905 photo.
My grandmother's sister Orpha is also buried in the Sand
