| History: Levi CHASTAIN settled on this land in 1855. Earliest burial
was 11 October 1865, latest burial 10 August 1967. Levi's Granddaughter
was the earliest burial on this land. A daughter, Mary E. married Joseph
W. WALTON. These are the two main families buried in this cemetery. This cemetery is located on the Yoder farm directly across from the main house on Road R-52, six miles southeast of Leon. It can be seen from the road. It sits on the back of the Stutz Property (2010) and is about a half mile from the gravel road. There is no other access to this cemetery without going through private property. Please be mindful and respectful when entering private property. If possible, make arrangements ahead of time before your visit. The property owners will be very grateful of your thoughtfulness and consideration. WALTON, Aunt Mary's son, who was a nephew of my Grandfather, John Martin Chastain, married Ena HAZLET. The HAZLETs were married into the Von Nostrand and McCUTCHAN families, also KIMPORTS.
