Reba Lamb Secretary and Treasurer May 28, 1966 -- Lion's Hall, Grand River Meeting was called to order by President Wayne Burchett with the following in attendance: Wilda Boles, Tick Moran, Estalla Moran, Cliff Hewlett, Ruby Foland, Kathleen Burchett, Bob Burchett and Reba Lamb. After some discussion, motion was made by Wilda Boles, seconded by Tick Moran, that we have 400 brochures printed. The President appointed the following committees: 1. Cliff Hewlett - Take charge of setting up
tables and arrange for cold drinks and coffee for the day. Reba Lamb Secretary and Treasurer May 1, 1966 -- Grand River Lion's Hall Meeting was called to order by President Wayne Burchett. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. After some discussion it was decided to sell the brochures for $2.00 each. George Rilea was appointed chairman of the book selling committee. It was announced that the nominating committee had selected Richard Schwalbe as candidate for President and Wayne Palmer as candidate for Secretary-Treasurer for 1967. It was decided that the officers should not be asked to serve more than one year but the previous year's officers are asked to help each year. After much discussion it was decided that the Sunday nearest Memorial Day was suitable for more people so this would be the date for future get-togethers. Wayne stated he would see that a Bulletin Board was available for the day of the picnic. Janice Daily was appointed chairman of the Donations for the day. No further business, meeting was adjourned. Reba Lamb Secretary and Treasurer The first Grand River High School Alumni group was called to order at 12:30 May 29, 1966 by President Wayne Burchettl After Rev. Leasure returned thanks everyone partook of the bountiful spread of food. At 1:30 the group was called to order for a brief business session. Alumni books were presented to: Warren Day who graduated in 1900 Kathleen McGraw Burchett, chairman of the nominating committee announced that Richard Schwalbe had been nominated for President and Wayne Palmer for Secretary-Treasurer of the 1967 picnic. The President asked for nominations from the floor. Motion was made by Dr. Edgar Hines, seconded by Bernard Young, that nominations cease. The group unanimously voted that these nominees be elected. The President announced that Brochures were on sale for $2.00 each and that Vaughn Smith was there to take pictures at $2.00 each. 50 cents of this is to go to the Alumni fund. Wayne also announced that the Decatur County Iowa California picnic would be held June 24, 1966 in Pearson Park, Anaheim, California. There being no further business, we adjourned to tour the school house and more visiting. |
