ZIMMERMAN HALL

Graceland University, Lamoni, Iowa
One of Graceland University's earliest buildings is Zimmerman Hall. I believe it was named in honor of Bishop Zimmerman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was a early patron during the early years of the college. Besides classrooms, the original gymnasium was located in Zimmerman Hall.

When the original Patroness Hall was destroyed by fire on January 2, 1927, the college's meal service was moved to the basement of Zimmerman Hall. The meal service was relocated to the basement of Walker Hall upon completion of that building in 1929.
