Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa Thursday, February 2, 1905 Sigler & Keller, who purchased the big dry goods store of J.W. BOWMAN a couple of months ago, have disposed of the stock, the purchaser being HENRY MIDDLEBROOK, a well known and prosperous farmer residing near Garden Grove, who has taken possession and will continue the business at the present location. In the trade Sigler & Keller secured a 280 acre farm owned by MR. MIDDLEBROOK five miles northeast of Leon. The new proprietor is a man of ample means and will add at once considerable new stock and conduct one of the best stores in the town. He is a very pleasant gentleman, and is no stranger, as he has been a resident of this county for many years and has many warm friends who will be pleased to meet him in a business way. He has secured the services of RALPH BRANT, an experienced dry goods man to assist in the store, and MR. FRED CONREY who has been a salesman in this store for a number of years will remain with the new proprietor for a month in order to assist in getting everything in running order. He would probably have remained permanently but had made arrangements to engage in business for himself in the near future. MR. MIDDLEBROOK starts off right by using a generous space in The Reporter, advertising his store, and extends a cordial invitation to the public to call and see him.
