Poor House Burials

Prior to 1875 the Poor House farm was located North of West Grove, Davis County, Iowa. In and near the present day Runkle and Baptist Cemeteries. There may have been a time when both County farms were in existence at the same time.

Some burials are in the Runkle cemetery, in the SW corner, with no headstones.

Other burials were in the Baptist cemetery.

Throughout my searches of the WPA, Death Records Book 2, etc., I find no recorded deaths for the names of people that were in the poor homes in the 1870 to 1888 records that I have compiled.
