DAVIS COUNTY, IOWA

History of the Bloomfield Christian Church, begins in the pioneer times of the County's beginning. Necessary because the only other of its kind was in Drakesville, and traveling to and fro was difficult for families. Sometime in 1850 or 1851 the Christian Church was organized in Bloomfield. The meeting place being a frame house in the SE corner of town. A new church was built in 1874.
