Most sincere thanks and appreciation to the many interested people far and near who shared information, pictures, articles and encouragement;  To those who so helpfully shared in interviews of a by-gone day;  To the Dallas Center Times for the use of the old files of early day local papers;  To the Centennial History Booklet committee for the opportunity of compiling this brief history of our town.

          It has been a new and enjoyable experience of reminiscing.  Apologies are due if errors have unintentionally been made.  Exact dates have not always been available so approximate dates have been used at times.

          May these pages in some way humbly reveal our common heritage of which we can indeed be proud;  and may they add a measure of strength to the firm century-old foundations laid by our forefathers;  and lead succeeding generations on into a promising future beyond 1969, Dallas Center's Centennial Year!
