Dallas Center has been the victim of three fires in the business district. Two depots have also burned as noted in the chapter on the railroad. The following headlines described the fire July 4, 1901: Nearly Half of the Business Portion of Dallas Center Destroyed; Estimated Loss $21,000; In an Hour From The time the Alarm was turned in the Fire had conpleted its Disastrous Works. |
