James Emmett Kelley moved to Perry in 1935 upon
graduating from Iowa Dental School. In 1941 he enlisted in the Army and
got his basic training in Little Rock, Arkansas. After that, he was
transferred to Brook Army Hospital, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX.
He remained there until the time that he was honorably discharged in
1945. He returned to Perry right after that and resumed his dental
practice. He is buried at Violet Hill Cemetery. Gravestone Photo |
