| Dallas County is
a short drive west of Des Moines. There are many roads leading to
Dallas County, but the prominent one is I-80 which runs east and west
along the southern edge of the county. Dallas' neighbors are Polk
County to the east, Greene
and Boone
counties to the north, Guthrie
County to the west and Madison
County to the south. Adair
County shares the southwest corner and Warren
County shares the southeast corner. Since most of our families
were not conscious of county borders, and they lived along a border,
then there's an excellent chance that there is evidence of their existence
in both counties. So be sure to do searches in the neighboring
county(ies). |
