I am going with a young man for the first
time. Is it customary to kiss a young man good-night the first
time he calls? If not, how long should they go together first? --
Blue Eyes.
Answer: -- Blue Eyes, I think are having a little fun with me. But if you are in earnest, I will tell you that to kiss or not to kiss is not a matter of etiquette. Every girl sets her own standards and those of the boy she goes with. Think it over. newspaper clipping page 73 |
Dismisal Time. After a long weary day, at twenty minutes of four. Miss Cline, our High School teacher rings the bell at the door. Slam goes our books and before you can think, we all begin, to whisper, but quick as a wink Miss Cline with her pencil her desk doth she pet. "Let's have the talking stopped, your not dismissed yet" Then she picks up her note book, and the whole room groans, As over the assembly her sharp eyes do roam. Portor and Thomas are to stay after school to night. And then Eugene and Lowell Tompson are in the same plight, Then to make them laugh, she tells them a joke, And we laugh, and laugh, till we nearly choke. The piano plays we groan no more Then we jump from our seats and march out the door. By Mary Evelyn Nissily pages 74 & 75 |
