in the triumph of a living faith, on May 13 , 1910 at 4:30 a.m. at the
ripe age of 80 years, 9 months and 24 days.
He
was a good citizen and an honest man, a loving husband and father, a
faithful friend and a Christian man. The funeral services were held in the
Christian Church on Lord's day , May 15, at 2:00 o'clock p.m. conducted by
the pastor J.C. Hanna, assisted by Rev. Foutch of the
M.E.
Church
. The singing was by a double quartette from both churches. The floral
offerings were beautiful and in profusion. The church was crowded with
friends and neighbors, thus attesting the love in which he was held. After
the service the body was laid to rest in the
Oakland
cemetery beside the body of his wife to await the resurrection morn.
