Joseph Siemer Dies in France
Pneumonia claimed as its victim, shortly after arrival in Europe, Joseph Siemer, son of Mrs. Joseph Losch of Denison. This sad news reached the other in Denison Tuesday night. On the 26th day of June the young man left Camp Dodge, and sometime in August he left for th trip overseas. Had he lived till November 23d, he would have been just 23 years old. He was born in Illinois, and fourteen years ago came to this county. The news of his death is indeed a sad blow to the mother and other relatives, and especially so coming after the glad news of peace gave prospect of his safe return. p> He leaves besides his mother and step-father, three brothers, Herman, Henry, and John, the latter also in France; and fours sisters, Mrs. Henry Roling of Lake View, Mrs. Adolph Ahart of Dow City, Mrs. Wm. Goettsch of Denison and Miss Tillie at home. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
