Kiron Kountry 'Connections to Other Countries'
Kiron Kountry is primarily a land of immigrants. The first in the area were from the country of Sweden. The German influence was felt within 10 years. But, other immigrants were in the greater area too. A large contingent of the Irish came with the railroad construction and settled in the Vail area. Southeastern Stockholm township was home to many of this nationality also. Bohemians settled in east Milford township and along the southern parts of Stockholm township. English speaking immigrants from England, Scotland, Canada, were in eastern Stockholm and Wheeler townships. Some Norweigians and Danes were found scattered throughout the 4 townships.
