Below is my HAYS family living in Clinton County, IA during
the 1880 census. I am not certain when they left Clinton County but I do know
they bought land in SD in 1892.
William F. HAYS was born abt. 1824 in New York, and died
Bet. 1892 - 1900. He married Mary Frances "Fannie" EATON, daughter of
Parley Eaton and Phila Barnes. She was born March 09, 1833, in New York, and
died January 23, 1906, in White Lake, Aurora County, SD.

Frederick Hays, born February 10, 1851 in Rockton (now Little Falls), Herkimer County, NY; died February 25, 1922 in Murdock, Douglas County, IL. He married Elisabeth C. Thompson June 30, 1872 in Scott County, IA; born May 24, 1849 in Butler County, PA; died April 10, 1932 in Allerton, Vermilion County, IL.

Hahnemann "Hans" Hays, born October 1852 in Morrisville, Madison County, NY; died March 22, 1934 in Yankton State Hospital, Yankton County, Utica Twp., SD.

William Jacob Hays, born March 13, 1856 in Morristown, St. Lawrence County, NY; died February 07, 1922 in Tulsa, Awnee County, OK, at the home of his daughter, Ella. He married Ella Jane Gast January 27, 1881 in Le Claire, Scott County, IA; born August 11, 1862 in Le Claire, Scott County, IA; died December 24, 1930 in Madison, Lake County, SD.
