Riverton Schools

  Riverton #1 (Golden Rod School 1887-1950)
  Riverton #2 (Enterprise School 1886-1958)
Riverton 4 (Center School 1887-1964)

Riverton 7 (Maple Grove School 1891-1946)

In 1936 eight of the rural schools were sold at auction. Six were purchased by the Clay county board of supervisors and converted into maintenance sheds. The other two buildings were bought by area men.

The schools were sold to make way for new buildings to be constructed this summer with the assistance of a PWA grant.
