Garfield Consolidated School From Spencer News April 23, 1912 We present here a cut of the new school house of Garfield Consolidated district. The building is of cement blocks. It is 60 feet square 12 feet walls. It was constructed by F.W. Fais, and cost with the ground and furnishings and house for principal etc. $6775.05. The schoolboard are A.H. Davis, Pres; Geo.Baker, Sec; C.H.Lawson, Treas.; C.A.Anderson, H.A.Cross and Isaac Woodford, Prof. H.S. Crowder is principal. The basement has 7 1/2 foot ceiling and is divided into two play rooms. On the main floor there is a spacious hall and four recitation school rooms, two cloak rooms and other conveniences.The residence is 22x32 with wing 18x24 with 12 foot posts. There is a bus barn 16x40 and 10 feet high. The five busses and wagons cost $560. The school work will cover ten grades. The schoolboard and citizens of Garfield deserve such credit for the spirit of enterprise manifest in providing these advantages for their boys and girls. | |

Nine seniors of the Garfield Consolidated High School will be graduated tonight May 19 at the annual commencement. Those to receive their diplomas are: Velma Burkhart Tressa Cross Helen Thompson Evelyn Ehrig Russell Skelton Floyd Wilson Russell Sandison Elmer Delaney George Krohn. This is the largest class in the history of Garfield School.
